Nicely framed, the big tree coming over the top third of the image works well.
Unfortunately, the background takes the eye away from the subjects, especially the more distant tree..if you could have managed a very shallow depth of field to blur the background or a slightly different viewpoint, it would have worked much better for me.
Bang on for challenge topic though.

Surprised this didn`t finish higher, it seems from the comments that most voters wanted to see the subject`s face...they obviously don`t know the Glasgow weather..normally the umbrella would be facing you and blotting your subject out from about the waist up as the person battled against the wind and rain :)

After two years of submitting and voting on challenges, I have found it increasingly difficult to get excited by an image (my own included)as the senses seem to dull with the repetition.
However, every now and then a picture crops up which stirs things back into life.
This one does it for me.
I love everything about it..it`s fresh and vibrant and suits the toning effect very well.
My favourite from the challenge.

Strayed a little from the challenge guidelines on using shallow DOF to isolate the main subject but all the more amazing that the effect was achieved without it.
