Memoirs of a Geishaby odriewComment: I absolutely loved this book, and the movie was quite interesting as well. Is this a cherry blossom tree?
The colors work wonderfully together, the focus point is great. It speaks of the movie. Nicely shot. |

Marathon Manby posthumousComment: Great shot! The movement of the photo is phenomenal! I like everything here. Not too busy, so you are forced to focus on the "marathon man", the title is completely fitting, and the uniqueness just adds to it. Great shot! |

Swiss Automaton (HUGO)by RobbyComment: I am not sure about the title here. Perhaps I am just "not seeing it". I don't know. BUT, I will say that the detail here is impeccable. It's a very nice image. I am not one of those people who will tell you it DNMC just because I don't see it. Perhaps when the challenge is over, I will understand. But like I said, very nice image. |

A Separation ~ Winner of Best Foreign Language Film Award, 2012by PenelopeKComment: Never heard of the movie until now. Looked it up, and it sounds wonderful. I will have to watch it. I do like that you have chosen this for your picture. There is "separation" here. I wonder how many people will say DNMC because of your image choice?
I think it's great. I like everything about it. It's simplistic. The colors play well off of one another. The sharpness is just the right amount and shoes great detail.
The only thing I think you should have done differently would be to clone out the white specks that are against the black background.
Overall, this is a wonderful image! |

Stalkerby rooumComment: There are many different movies titled "Stalker". So I am not sure which one you are talking about here. However, I must say, it does have a "stalkerish" feeling here. I think that if it wasn't so overexposed, perhaps if you went the other route and underexposed it, it would portray the concept better? I am not sure. But, it does have an eerie feeling to it. |

Snow Blowing Over the Dead of Winterby skewsmeComment: Never seen the movie, but I looked it up, and it sounds interesting. From what I read about it, it doesn't look like dead walking, or radiation occurring; however, the picture portrays the title nicely. And I like how you can't see the person who is walking, so perhaps, that IS the dead walking.
It makes you take a step back and think... the meaning conveyed is there, one just has to open their minds, as opposed to seeing with their eyes. |

Coyote Uglyby neenee1999Comment: It's an interesting picture. I love the graininess here. I also love that you didn't choose the typical "hot girl slightly dressed" approach. The wine glass with the whiskey (i'm assuming it's whiskey) doesn't exactly make sense, but then again, it's all up for interpretation. |

Unknownby lobrinComment: Not sure which movie you are going after, there are two I know of titled "Unknown" but I never really watched them. I think it's a nice picture, there could have been some skin smoothing, or a warmer tone. Maybe even a black and white conversion. I think the natural light makes for harsh tones on the model's face. Just my personal opinion, however. |

The Secret Gardenby NeatComment: I loved the book and movie!
With regards to your photo, I think it is beautifully shot. The softness of the picture makes it more inviting, I love the child to the right of the photo, it is a great addition (though when I first looked at the picture, the child is not what I noticed). Then again, the child shouldn't have been the center of attention, so it works well together. I like the sepia choice as well. It all flows well. 8 |

Vertigoby banmornComment: An image that could certainly give someone "vertigo". lol
I've never seen the movie, personally, but I looked it up; an Alfred Hitchcock movie, right? Sounds really interesting, and I love Hitchcock movies, so I may have to watch it. |
