poinssetias leafby PepetteComment: Cool. Very mesmerizing. The coloration, definition and shadowing of the veins are remarkable. It's like following a maze. The glare at the bottom center is a little bit distracting and could probably be cropped just at the level of the 2nd rib from the bottom. But I am just being petty. Good job! |

Pheasant Fish?by dacrazyrnComment: I like the details that you were able to extract from the feathers ... but the shadow in front is a little bit distracting as it takes about a third of the picture. But the details and texture are wonderful. |

common frogby andygoughComment: As a biologist, this photograph interests me very much. The frog is so real, you can just 'feel' its soft, perhaps slimy skin ... but it seems like its ready to jump away from you. Be careful now. DOF is good, lighting is perfect ... I like it that you offset the frog toward the side ... to give him more room for the impending movement ... very very pleasing. Congratulations! |

Little Flowersby SharonSComment: I love the black that you chose a stark black background ... it accentuates the delicate character of the flowers. The white is pure, the petals soft, the clarity of the main flower subject is exceptional ... you can almost touch the petals and be dusted with pollen. Great job! |

Blue Tonesby sfaliceComment: Interesting framing ... colors are beautiful. There seems to be a gray cast that may perhaps be reduced by boosting contrast a little bit ... but if this is the intent of the picture, then, it should be ok. |

Primitive Beautyby kirbicComment: I am partial to jellyfish images and I will have to admit that I will be biased here. Having said that, I have to commend the photographer for this photograph because of the clarity of the details. It is very difficult to photograph jellyfish with this kind of detail because they are constantly moving around. The 'hairs' are amazing. In many other jellyfish photographs that I have seen, the 'hairs' are kind of fuzzy. DOF is excellent, colors are beautiful ... and especially, the way the aquarium lighting was caught is very wise and appropriate - it did not overwhelm the main subject and thus afforded contrast and clarity. |
