Sultryby tfaustComment: Nice. There was actually a feature on flamingoes in NG 30 years ago with a similar picture ... so you are in the right track. I wish for a more vivid coloration though ... so perhaps added saturation (?) might enhance this already excellent picture. |

From Stock Yards to Stock Markets - The Story of the Windy Cityby SirBiggsALotComment: My favorite shot in the world. I can\'t get enough of this so I will be biased. First of all, you were so brave to stand the freeze when you took this :-). Second (beyond your control), I wish they allow panoramic sizes because this one would be so great in panorama. Third, so much details at his resolution ... I could even see my office, well, almost. I also like the color - dark background and foreground - so the building lights would stand out more. Good job!!! |

Bush Living 'tradition without technology'by camelotnorthComment: Nice, appropriate folk subject. I especially like that you included the walls with the decoration - the walls add more to the tradition that you wanted to convey. The photograph overall is a little bit overexposed so maybe a little bit of saturation added in post processing wouldn't hurt. |

Every Thursday Night, In My Neighborhoodby librodoComment: A more creative title (that describes buying 2nd hand shoes) should have erased the confusion as to what these people are doing. I think many people missed the fact that the whole subject is buying 2nd hand shoes every Thursday night ... not just the shoes, or the light, or the umbrella or the people - as the act of buying used shoes is very foreign to a lot of Western rich people. |

a view of the moon.by johnny_justjohnnyComment: Good subject and a very lovely picture. There is an overall gray cast that could be corrected (in Photoshop) by autolevels or added saturation (still within challenge rules). It would also have more power if the two birds are offset toward the right side and not dead on center. If you crop halfway from the bottom to the first set of wires and about two thirds from the right border to the first bird and probably about an inch from the top, you might end up with an improved composition. It's a lovely picture, don't get me wrong. |

Checking the Weatherby sacrumastraComment: I like that you are forcing your viewer to actively participate in checking the weather outside. Your viewer is also urged to peer out of the window. Very clever. Message edited by author 2004-01-21 17:09:45. |
