Nice composition, but the large uncovered spaces at the right are a bit disturbing. I think it would have been OK to crop a little tighter on that side. The loss of part of that right-hand slice might even strengthen the overall effect (I put a piece of paper over my computer screen, and I think it was an improvement). The lighting and captuere of the texture are great.

Getting this close, with this coloring, you get an interesting abstract. Without the title I would never figure out what the subject is. The texture and shapes are excellent.

Colour of Fall

At a time when the world is flooded with photos of whole forests in fall colors, the detail of a single leaf is a refreshing change - especially when it is this well lit and composed. I think a darker gray in the background would allevieate the amount of blank space at the top left.

I'm puzzled as to the relevance of the title to the photo or the theme. It's a gorgeous piece of pottery, and the photo brings its detail out nicely.

A negative revealed...

Interesting interpretation of the challenge, and an attractive shot. It almost demands that the viewer try to visualize the positive print that would come from this negative.

I like the idea, but somehow the lusciousness of the inside of the orange doesn't come through. I think removing the white under peel would make for a more attractive photo, and possbly a little less contrast.
