Railroad Crossingby monkeypirateComment: I appreciate the idea of a train-themed film noir shot, however this doesn't seem to be very eye-grabbing. |

spacetime constraintsby bspartaComment: This has an interesting feel in regards to the POV, but the subject is not too interesting and a little too dark. I'm not sure if he's changing shoes or pants or pulling off his sock. I like the grittiness of this; it just seems a little dim. |

~ The Snail Murder Story ~by Carlo21Comment: This is interesting and unique. I wish the snail was a little more defined. It looks more like a hand pointing to a small pile of dirt. I like the processing and dof though. |

His Heroby JulietNNComment: I really like the processing on this and the photo really seems to tell a story. I'm not sure it's in the genre of this challenge, but it's a nice picture. |

Not a Lullabyby sfaliceComment: This seems like a candid shot that doesn't feel like a 'film noir' shot at all. I think it's hilarious that the mother and baby seem to have exactly the same expression! |

I Said, Stick 'em Up!by GeneralEComment: This is a nice POV and mood. It's just a little too dark to tell what's going on. I can't tell if he's in front of a door, or an open field. I want this to work, I just literally can't see it. |

His stare is deadly by GYPComment: The shadows are harsh and the pose is a bit mysterious, which is good, but this looks too much like an on-camera flash. While this isn't bad in itself, it doesn't make for very interesting lighting, i.e. it's not very moody or 'noir'-ish. |

Fauveby StephanieDComment: This is a good black and white portrait of a cat. I don't feel too much of a 'noir' feel here. |

calm before the stormby jmritzComment: This seems very noisy with not much of a subject. It's hard to tell what is going on and the easiest thing to see besides the man is a plastic lawn chair and a small sedan. This doesn't really pique my interest, especially not in a Noir sense. |
