Convert from RAW, heavy crop, convert to Black and White and apply Viveza 2 & Silver Efex (Pull process N-1)
Details on this one are rather interesting. I was driving through the Mission District of my city on Monday, and stopped for a red light, when I saw this guy with a guitar just playing his heart out. I managed, with my 70-300 lens, to get 3 or 4 shots through the windshield, before the light changed. When I got home, this rather poignant image was on one of the frames.
fortunately, my windshield was fairly clean and the Black & White processing helped too.
The expressions on the mother and child will haunt me for a long time. This is what I remember "Film Noir" as being like when I first encountered it "way back when."
Threatening music and a terrified audience.
(Even though, in real life here, that could not have been the case.) |

| This seems like a candid shot that doesn't feel like a 'film noir' shot at all. I think it's hilarious that the mother and baby seem to have exactly the same expression! |
