Graspby banmornComment: Awesome. Lighting, focus, and framing are all very Weston. The light colored peppers are perfect. The dark one in the center really detracts from the shot for me. It looks too common or ordinary. It makes it clear we're looking at peppers and it's form is definitely not a star (like for the others). |

Juniper Form and Textureby pmichaudComment: Awesome. I'd like it even more if the darks were darker or at least more dark. I don't know why. I think for more Westoniness there needs to be more balance. Probably just me. |

Self Portraitby sjhulsComment: Very nice. Great detail with perfect focus. I love the dark/light contrast. I especially like the subtly lighter background versus the even darker sweater. The sense of emotion is great. Great shot! |

Toadstools by crikComment: The you have captured your subjects, form isn't the star it needs to be to echo Weston. Maybe tight cropping on the underside of the toadstool on the left would work better. Very brave to submit in color :). |

Pulled up the stakesby dali_lama_2kComment: The subject blends in with the rest too much, and at least based on the Weston shots I recall, this needs more contrast. Maybe it's just a Weston style I don't care for as much. |

Crocusby dtremainComment: I love the shot but it doesn't look very Weston to me. Instead of being focused on form in an abstract-ish kind of way, this comes off more as a formless abstract collage. Aside from the Westoniness, I really like it! |

Lettuceby james_soComment: With sharper focus at the top and more dramatic contrast I think would be a fantastic shot. I really like your subject. |

Westonius Invertusby mefnjComment: Yes. I love the contrast, lighting, perspective, and framing. I just think you show too much of the subject making it too easy to identify right away. The dark area towards the bottom of the subject provides a secondary and contrasting focal point that makes it feel like too much is going on, especially for a Weston. |

Reclining, Nudeby pixelpigComment: Lovely. I think Weston would have captured everything in focus, but I think this image works so well as is and echoes Weston's aesthetic well. Nicely done. |

Mushroomby AbraComment: Hmm, I think I like the way this one fits the challenge. I don't recall Weston shooting anything so close. I do think your contrast range, lighting, framing, and presentation of form really echo his work well. I especially like that your subject is so different while capturing his approach so well. Awesome! |
