Hermit Crabby ladpupmoeComment: Like the repeating body and claw curves of this little fellow dragging his house behind him - he fits into it quite tightly. The textures on the crustacean and the shell are crisp and well done as are the bits of sand still clinging to the critter and his shell. The eyestalks are determinedly pointed in the way he wishes to go and the Plan to get there is on. Great shot. |

Typing Tutorby getsonComment: The ghost fingertips lend a whimsical touch to this. All this wonderful computerised technology and still the layout of the keyboard has not changed since 1874 when the first qwerty was designed to slow down the typist! |

Downey Warmthby DrakeComment: Excellent repeating patterns and diagonals and the contrasting but close colours are both warm and pleasant. The feather split on the upper left has uniform endings while the one on the right does not, having long and short ends. The black background makes this beautiful. Well done photograph. |

Chambered Nautilusby The EskimoComment: Spiral within spiral within spiral drawing you in and giving allowance to ponder the mystery and magnificence of the larger scheme of the Universe contained within the smaller microcosm of the shell. The golden lightplay on the right side contrasts nicely with the translucent and pearline nacre of the subject. Beautiful - and I like how the circles expand ever outward until they fill up and sweep out of the frame. |

"... and a long time gone."by PenelopeKComment: The textures of the cream coloured cracked and peeling paint contrast nicely with the greenish grey tint of the old wood underneath on this doorway. The eye goes immediately to the dark Simmons lock crisp and highlighted by the layers of paint around it and the repeating circles invite you in - but this has long ago ceased to be accessible. The viewer is left to wonder about this on many levels but does not have the Key that will open it nor reveal the answer. Superb macro. |

Sleep Numberby npaselComment: Sleep Number 8 - Delightful, as I have never really taken the time to study bedsprings before. The patterns and colour tones of the ties complement this and are reinforced by the diagonal repetitions of the exposed bedframe. I do wonder about what the sole black thread in the front centre is tied to however, but that is more a curious musing on my part. Sharp & creative capture. |

Aquatic Flowerby jentComment: The co-mingling colours in this are very beautiful, almost iridescent. I have often thought that these anemones open up like living flowers but you have captured this concept perfectly and it also illustrates their cohesiveness and cooperation. The water magnification makes them resemble a delicate sea bouquet. Excellent photograph. |

Afterfeatherby hahn23Comment: The wisps on this have a great sense of movement, almost as if they have a flight sense remaining of the bird who has left this behind. They dance on the wind, curl and bounce yet remain grounded by the central shaft of the feather. Very nice. |

Light on Whiteby DCNUTTERComment: Very nice high-key macro - you managed quite well to make a common light bulb interesting. The silvered socket is festive with its little black cap. |

Taylor's pinsby gadionComment: The coloured pin heads on these really pop out against the black background and together they are very cheerful, almost like mini christmas ornaments. In the pin cushion, my eye kept going to the empty left side hole, but I do very much like this composition. |
