I do think both your outtakes are better than the submitted version, the first one has a great leading line, with help from the smoke trail, and the other has very good composition. I'm also sometimes torn between which version to choose, but as I know that I'll never find out how the outtake would do, I tend not to worry much ;-)

The subject is not very interesting, and it has too much the look of homemade shot, and these kind of shots only get good results if they are indeed well pulled off.

It's a good perspective, but not original in the challenge (of course you couldn't know before), and for these shots a square crop works better. Also, a lens hood would help prevent that lens flare.

I can't really see the triangles in the photo, so it doesn't meet the challenge very much, but the photo is very good and the choice for b&w is very good.

I think the triangles are not a major part of the photo, they should be more in foreground, this way they just look a small element. I would also straighten it out with the bottom stand.

This is a good abstract picture, but I think the voters will be a bit confused about the triangle part, it's a bit hidden. I would increase the contrast and brightness to improve this photo.
