I like the layering of colors, but the difference in sharpness between the fore- and background elements is so stark it looks almost artificial or compositied. That adds to the feeling of depth, but seems a little jarring -- I'd like to see this with a softer overall look. Not sure it would be better, but would be interesting to compare.

I really like the multiple levels of meaning in this photo. Unfortunately, one of your's was somewhat obscured by my own color-blindness (ophthamological), and so I didn't make as strong a connection with the speech. Yet another time I would have liked to read your notes before voting...great job.

Very effective use of DOF -- would be interested in seeing this with some illegal filter (e.g. watercolor) run on the background only...and maybe a thicker outer border.
