Love the balloons, and a very nicely exposed shot. However, I'm seeing the subject as the balloons and not the sky. Once could argue that they are "in" the sky but I'm knocking a point off for my perceived DNMC.

I'm saying the cityscape here is the main subject, with the sky in the supporting role, the opposite of the challenge brief. I think it's a fantastic image though so I am torn. Nonetheless, I'm knocking a point off for my perceived DNMC. Plus, I think a slightly tighter crop losing the railing on the far left would be tidier. There are a few NYC shots in this challenge, this is one of the nicest.

I feel the pier is more of a subject than the sky, albeit this composition feels natural. The pier lower down might not feel right but maybe would be more of a "supporting role" as per the challenge. Here I feel it is a key element.

Seems very slighty tilted to one side. I would have cropped a litte bit more off the bottom losing the reflections of the green / orange lights from the bottom. Nice vibrant shot though.

A tiny bit less land a more sky would meet the challenge better I feel. I appreciate you've gone for the rule of thirds, but I'd be looking for the rule of 9ths maybe :-) That said, I don't feel that it is DNMC so won't be docking any marks.

Very jealous of where you live! I actually find the white bands on the border a little distracting... maybe if they were a lot narrower it would be better, or maybe colour matched with the sky? Great shot though.
