I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives:This is amazing in so many ways. I like the way it plays with my brain - I think I have its measure and then I notice something else. The reflected clouds, the solarisation at the top of the frame, the highlight around the foreground windows, the second set of reflections running across the centre of the frame, the car seemingly stopped on railway tracks. All compelling and strange in equal measure.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Overall: Outstanding work.

Positives: I really like the deliberate superimposition of the elements here - the window frame and the reflection overlying the subjects. I like your framing / crop too - unexpected but effective. It all makes me wonder about the real relationship between the structures you show.

Critical stuff: Not much really - I think you have certainly got the most out of this scene,

Overall: A really interesting shot.

Positives: The cage motif comes through really strongly and the oppressive biliary green works fantastically well. I like how, despite the blur, we still see plenty of detail and even get a sense of how the panels of the cage are put together.

Critical stuff: No matter how good a job you do on a n image such as this, there is only so far you can take it.

Overall: An image I like a lot. I would be at all surprised if this is a clive_patric_nolan.

Positives: I really like the idea behind this shot - the contre-jour composition, the fill light on the face, the upward curve of the road (most of all) and the near-monochrome coloration. I like the texture of the road too and the car at the top is a treat.

Critical stuff: Although I quite like the tone-mapped appearance of the background, I'm not so keen about the tone-mapped subject. I also think he pose/stance looks a little awkward.

Overall: This is a very interesting shot though and one that I like a lot.

Positives: One of those images that reminds me that we live in a social world - looking at this feels like touching base with humanity and the reality we all help to socially construct. In this way, the image communications culture. I like how you haven't tried to straighten out the white balance, preferring to leave in tungstenesque. The image is also slightly voyeuristic; we aren't sure he is aware of that - I like that, since it places us there through making us aware of the act of viewing.

Critical stuff: Not much at all really.

Overall: A fine and gentle image.

Positives: Is this vertically upward? It looks like it should be but your aspect ratio confounds the brain somehow. I like that, ambiguity is always good! The coloration here is exceptional and the 'overlapping' birds are particularly interesting. The overall distribution of the birds is interesting too.

Critical stuff: Nothing really.

Overall: A simple scene, made interesting by your photographic choice. Bravo.

Positives: This is a lovely scene, made lovelier by your composition and the way you offer up the red of the sign and the blue/grey of the sky. I also like the sense of perspective offered by the fence. The layered effect that begins at the base of the fence as the eye tracks up the image is very effective.

Critical: Call me fussy but I think the sign should be the object of crisp focus rather than the fence.

Overall: A very attractive image. Nicely done.

Positives: This is quite lovely. WIth photographs, sometimes it's the small things that matter; here those small things are the walking people in the distance, framed beautifully by the birds and shrouded somewhat in mist/spray. The birds themselves are caught beautifully and the reflections are also well captured. The sepia tomes work well, though I suspect this image would look good no what toning the image had.

Critical stuff: Nothing really.

Overall: Excellent capture and presentation.

Positives: An unusual portrait of simply stunning quality. The lighting, the choice of background colour, the precise but casual pose, the disk, the clothing, the glasses and most of all the processing. I'd love to be able to pull off work of this quality.

Critical stuff: Perhaps the highlight on the back of the neck - the longer I look at the image, the more prominent it seems to be; and the clipped elbow.

Overall: An image of superb clarity. Looking forward to seeing who made this. If I was betting I'd spread my money between LVicari lovethelight and njsabs.
