Deep and dark, painterly textures that grip our soul and hold fast. Thank you indeed.

And great sympathy for your feathered friend.

Just getting back for a second look. Sorry about the loss of your pet. I always appreciate Paul's comments but in all due respect I would say that for the vast majority of shots on dpc there is only so far to take them but for this shot where else would you want to take it. It seems perfect to me. Beautiful effigy to your cockatiel.

A moving and fitting tribute. Enormously profound and textured.

You have a wonderful way with words, and with light. May he/she rest in peace.

What a wonderful image, how many cockatiels do/did you have?

An excellent example of why the average score is sometimes meaningless. Just about equal amounts of lovers and haters. Just look at that commenters average! You nailed it.

As with your sentinel I see faces, but mostly I feel the rhythm of the mesh, patterns of vibration, darkness meeting light.

Beautiful, hazed reflection of a dream. Must be a jmritz, if not, well done!

I have no idea what this really is, and I doubt I am meant to know. The play of shadow, light and pattern is fascinating. I keep stopping before hitting the number key and looking some more. One of my highest votes for this one.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: The cage motif comes through really strongly and the oppressive biliary green works fantastically well. I like how, despite the blur, we still see plenty of detail and even get a sense of how the panels of the cage are put together.

Critical stuff: No matter how good a job you do on a n image such as this, there is only so far you can take it.

Overall: An image I like a lot. I would be at all surprised if this is a clive_patric_nolan.

Like a fierce ink drawing blotted into reluctant cohesion with a damp sponge. I like it very much. Thank you.

Inspiring image.
Title a tad disconcerting.

I can see the window, sense the light and almost feel what torments his soul. On a technical note, this is most impressive in the giant square frame.
