    Biography: I began using a camera around the age of eight or nine. I remember it taking “disc film”. From there I advanced to a Kodak with the 100 film. Amazing photos let me tell you =) After I had my first daughter my father let me borrow his Pentax spotomatic (he had bought it in the late 60’s early 70’s while in Hong Kong with the NAVY). I would just adjust the manual settings and hope for the best when I went to have them developed at the local pharmacy. Even today I really only take pictures of things that I enjoy looking at and don’t think that I would choose photography as a career. I can’t imagine the bills I would ring up not having a digital camera and having to take 50 shots to get 6 up to par! Hopefully as I learn more I will only need to choose from 10 or 12 .

    I tend to like taking photos of and voting highly of pictures that are crisp, clear, vibrant, black and white or full of contrast. Things pertaining to nature, i.e. bugs, reptiles, marine life, flowers and wood catch my eye.

    I am amazed at the pictures that I have seen that have been enhanced through photoshop, however, I do not have it currently installed on my computer nor do I know how to use it well at all. Everything I take is only tweaked using the basic editing rules.

    I have already learned so many new techniques and ideas on photography in the short time that I have been a member here. I hope to learn even more every chance I get and I welcome and respect any criticism that I may receive.
