I have worked most of my professional life with/for many people who were addicted to substances, some more deadly than others. I did this shoot in memory of those who left this life much too early.

[Feb. 16th, 2012 10:18:59 PM]

I knew it wouldn't score well - it's a very sensitive topic. But if it caused one person to examine the reality that addiction is killing so many each day and that there is help it's worth it.

Never give up as insanity, jail and/or death is all that awaits those who keep using.

To Bspurgeon - I toyed with the idea of putting some spilled wine in the shot but changed my mind, thanks for looking close enough to catch that.

Don, thanks for noticing MM face on the wine bottle.
Mcaldo - thanks for your (2) comments - yes, I do have other takes where he is more intimate in the composition but picked this one. Thank you for the 9 vote as well. :)

I appreciate all the votes and the comments. Thanks so much.

i saw this in voting and thought it was a very powerful image .. probably wouldnt appeal to a lot of ppl because its so in your face .. at the time i wondered if it was yours maggie because of the msg but wasnt sure coz it didnt look like your style .. from what i've seen of it .. anyway .. i also hope that a lot of ppl see this and hear the message .. unfortunately it often takes a lot more than seeing one very traumatic event to change a person's fast track to oblivion ..

Good job, particular after learning of your intention when taking this one.
I suspect that having him still out of the frame but holding her fingers could have improved not the image but your score, but it probably really doesn't matter, good image.
