Based on a lighting test with a simple candle, this Vodka bottle represents the irony of what hope is to some people in this world. Far from judging, but rather accepting, as i've known a few person seeing this bottle as a better day.

Small PS edits: Level, some HUE adjustments for better colours.

My favourite Vodka being darkened out by not enough light.

4 from me.

I'm just not getting the irony or the connection to hope here.

No hope in there but nice picture

I don't get it?

The "irony" for me is that I really liked your image, and I left it until last to comment on. The reason was that I saw no "hope" in the image. I saw a dark, foreboding soul drowning in the dispair of chronic alcoholism. I saw Russian leaders, hiding their failures as human beings by losing themselves in the stupor of Vodka. I saw no "Hope". I DID see a striking, backlit image of contrasting yellows, reds and blacks which was really attractive.

I love the lighting in this shot - dark, but no too dark. Really sets a mood.

I'm having hard time grasping this idea. I like the lighting.

I liked the backlight, but the front needs more light. Nicely framed..

very strong idea.

The dark and red lighting certainly makes this a depressing shot - you have achieved the exact opposite of "hope" - which I assume is your point! I know that sometimes you can give the feeling of something by showing the opposite - get to fear by showing somebody being brave or something, but, while well done, this just sucks the hope right out of me.

Nice color tones and lighting, I am not sure why the middle of the bottle is blackened out, I am trying to find what you are trying to say there but I don't get it at the moment, I will think about it some more :)

Masterfull use of light. Simple, poster-like composition. Very graphic, very communicative. One would wish a touch of light to suggest the top of the bottle: it would complement for strong high light at the bottom. Bravo!

I hope it's just my monitor but this is pretty dark. I can see the red background, the silhouette of the bottle and the the Absolut Vodka words but little else. From what I can see, it could be a pretty dramatic image but I can see so little I don't see the tie in to hope.

How is this ironic?
The Dictionary: At its most basic, a difference or gap between the presentation/representation of something and its reality. In other words, when what something appears to be and what it is are not the same.
Vodka is to be appreciated, not scorned. Now it's not Gray Goose but it's better than water.

The point of this is beyond me. Maybe I'm just not seeing something.
