So, it's off with his head eh..LOL I like the headroom and I don't want to fit in, but I appreciate all the comments and the support. So thank you to all, it is a pleasure to be in the fold.
Used 1 Bowens 500c flash with 140x100 soft box about 100cm away, no back light - that's the reflection off the orange/red wall about 100cm behind. Dodge & burn, cosmetic surgery spotting, Silver Efex Pro 2 especially to lighten the dark side. Darkened lips and lightened eyes using CS5 curves. Tone mapped the invisible Daniel Boon raccoon hat.

Ah! This was very fine. Still is, actually. I did give it a decent score (7, which is very high for me), and meant to comment further but something happened. My alarm didn't go off. The dog ate my comment. The train was late out of Strathfield. One of those, anyway. Sorry for my no show before now, and congratulations on a surprisingly but pleasingly high finish for such a very good picture :)

I'll always vote for more headroom, by the way. Max Headroom. Cropping it down closer would have risked mussing your hair (and I have much less hair than you too, so I know about these sensitive tonsorial cropping considerations).

This is classic. A little dark, but it might be my monitor. I realize that's the look and I like it.

Love the processing on this one, i feel the crop above the subjects head could have been a little tighter.

Very well done... An image that makes you stop and look twice... or thrice. Good to see a technical photo that doesn't look "technical". That shows that you really know what you are doing. Good luck on this one.

I love the talent of the photographer here... I just wish the top were cropped to make it more "on the thirds".
