 Very happy for the 4th Top Ten in a free study this year!

I'm sure that very few of you recognized this place even if most of you have seen this castle and these mountains in a very well known movie - Ladyhawke

This is Rocca Calascio. It is at 1500 metres above the sea level, the highest castle in Italy and one of the highest in Europe.

This is a truly wonderful and magical place and I'm lucky to be not too far from there - I took 1h. and 15m. to reach the Castle.

I took this picture using a B+W110 ND Filter, that's why the exposure was so long. We had been there for a while and then went to the other side of the castle. My friends started to go back towards our cars but I wanted to try a last shot here because the sun was setting and the light was better. I was really tired going up and down and I thought my heart was about to go out of my chest, but I survived :)

ETA: Mary, English is not my first language but I try to be very careful when I use a title. I know the difference between 'alone' and 'lonely' and I used 'alone' on purpose.

Moreover I thought 'on top of the world' was ok, but I wanted to check the Internet to be sure and I found plenty of English and American stuff with 'on top of the world' - and to tell the truth I had in my mind the Van Halen's song: Standin' on top of the world, for a little while [...] :)

This is beautiful, Alessandro! Maybe one day I will pay a visit to this spot (and use a 10,000 mm lens to capture your house from this spot too:) )
