This is one of many plant types at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens in Lackawanna, NY.

Taken with my Canon EF 28-135mm IS zoom lens. I obviously used selective desaturation to draw attention to the central portion of the plant. Selective coloring, a little cloning of some distracting spots on the leaves; curves, levels, and usm.

Congratulations on your 14th placing. Hey, your quality of entries are always good. In this one you made an ideal use of desat, a hard feat to pull off.

Great shot! I like the fact that you were able to take the standard flower photo and make it unique. Visually very appealing. Good job.

Few have encompassed the full meaning of the challenge. The study of plants, Botany. Well composed and the plant is central, got to give it a 10/10

There are a couple submitted that have used the magnifying glass idea but you went beyond the everyday idea and raised the bar. Great job on this. The depth of field seems perfect and the lighting beautiful. Great detail and colors too. Hope this gets high ratings.

I like the idea, but think it could be stronger if used more subtly. The comoposition is also very centered, which added to the colour choices makes this very static.
