Wow! A blue in a free study - it's a DPC dream come true! If you could see the silly grin on my face right now!
------------
My local camera club had a mono competition a couple of months ago and that got me into black and white processing. The influence of that has featured quite a bit in my recent entries here.

Also, I would be lying if I said I hadn't drawn some influence from jagar's terrific black & white portfolio.
Thanks again for the votes and comments.

It's all about the sky in this one for me. Very 3D-ish which makes this shot pop! Of course beautiful conversion to B&W as well. Congrats!

Congratulations on the blue ribbon. This is just lovely. The sweeping lines, with one strong vertical element, the dramatic sky, and the foreground detail all remind me of a JMW Turner print.

Great to see something so unusual win the blue in the FS, very well done.

Love the shot BTW, I'm guessing you had to walk some distance to get it?

Nice how the clouds (left) echo the tree. Eerie, really.

Sometimes we wonder how something can actually grow and survive on land like this. As far as we can see here, there's not one single other tree. And the one present, frankly, is not the most solid one either. But oh boy, he is making the view there.

I know this must look awesome in color, but your choice of B/W makes a POWERFUL statement and pulls this out from other landscapes! Good Choice!!
