It seems as though the point of sharpest focus is on the end of the long rather than on the faces which is a shame as the lighting is really nice in tricky conditions.

Very nice -- bet you both cherish not only this photo but the time you spend together. Love the camo outfits and "matching" gear as well as the setting -- it seems quite appropriate that you blend in to the background. Are you shooting birds? deer? You should be quite inconspicuous at any rate.
