If the shadows don't quite work it's because I picked the flower and laid it on the ground. It doesn't seem quite right whichever way I orientate it.

This is gorgeous. So soft and feminine.

Lovely pink. You might consider rotating the shot so that it is more in portrait mode than landscape, with the centre of the flower at the top and the larger petals at the bottom...

Neat texture and tones. I wonder how this would be in b&w.

so incredibly feminine I want to sink into it and all will be well, all manner of things...(Julian of Norwich).

It's beatiful I think the shadows are fine. I would never have known you laid it down.

It's pretty cool how this one goes from being a "what's that" thumbnail to a "Wow" image when you see it bigger. I like this one a lot. This would make a good print. The little water droplets all over give it a lot of little details to poke around in while viewing it.

Very delicately pretty. I see what you mean about the composition; IMO it's because it appears that the flower is "looking" out of the frame. I'd try a tighter crop on the left and a bit more off the bottom and see if that feels better. Still might want more flower on the right to balance it.
