|Not sure I like the sidewalk leading right out of the image but I had to work with the direction of the sun when I was there. I like that the sun made a nice starburst and the lens flare leads the eye back down into the picture. Kind of works for me. Better than anything else I got, anyway.
PP - cropped, tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), merged with original in luminousity mode at 10% transparency, reduced noise, dodged and desaturated gull, touched up tons of sensor dust ::sigh::, white balance, increased saturation and contrast, resized, sharpened, blurred background sky more to remove slight banding, added border.
