Merryvale Winery, private tasting room. I got to peek in and take some pictures before they closed the room in preparation for an event. Loved the atmosphere in this room; gigantic barrels of wine, candelabras, rich wood ... my imagination was free to run wild as to what was going to happen next.
PP - cropped, tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), merged with original at 10% transparency, desaturated yellow a little, colored floor browner, cloned out light bits on far wall, dodged letters on wall and some on candles, increased contrast, resized, sharpened. |

Super image. Great POV and composition. PP a bit heavy for me but it makes the wood texture pop. Musty, rich goodness. I'm familiar with cellars, go at least once a year to the Cape Winelands in South Africa and get a few cases :) |

Very unique setting, and a nice HDR treatment. Not too keen on the all-red tones, but it does impart a mood to the scene. Nice starry effect on the lights - you must've stopped down the aperture quite a bit. I would've preferred a more landscape aspect ratio to balance out the left and right though - otherwise the asymmetric composition is noticeable. |
