Dito what Mary said. The shadow and stem meet at the bottom. I see a sort of metaphor for a fork in the road there. One way leads to beauty and light, the other to darkness and emptiness.

Nice tones in the yellows and good detail for the petals. It may be considered to be a weed but is still a cheery yellow flower.
