Played around with a possible Stripes entry but realized it was way too out there, so I just put layers on it instead. ;P

Taken with my Android phone Vignette app.

I agree with you that this probably wouldn't have been received well by the masses in a voted challenge even though it is a brilliantly executed image! Side challenges rock :-)

Inspired by this image, I googled the history of Venetian blinds. Interesting reading. In most of the images I see using blinds, the light-and-shadow parallel lines dominate in a not-so-interesting way. In this image, you use a mirror to give some nice variety. And the hand w/the pointing finger is an effective focal point. Not sure if it's touching or pointing, but it's a classic pose & the ambiguity works well w/the PP treatment. I ended up thinking of old photos & things tucked into a mirror frame. All in all, a nice experience for me. Thanks!

Sign language in duplicate. ;D Yeah, it was probably too out there for the masses, but I love it.
