Location: My back yard in La Jara, Colorado
Date: Aug 8, 2004
Aperture: F2.8
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/100

Editing: Crop, levels, select feet only and add fill flash, enhance red, sharpen with neat image, more levels.

My husband helped me spray paint some patio bricks yellow and I spray painted some shoes red then used spay glue to stick red glitter on them. We have a Cairn terrier that looks just like Toto which is what inspired me to think this picture - unfortunately she didn't want to cooperate for the picture!

what a beautiful picture! I read your description, how neat would it have been to see 'totos feet' in there too!

Very nice! The hot area below the shoes is a bit too hot, but apart from that, I like this image a lot! Nice white and shine in the socks!

A very good and logical entry and very well captured and composed. The image looks adorable. Bumping from 5 to 7.

I like the nostalgic soft focus you used. I like the composition, but think it would be more thematic if the road extended in front of her rather than to the side. The sunshine in bottom right corner feels a bit random - wish it were on more of the frame, but it does catch the toes of the shoes and make them sparkle.

One of my ribbon picks this challenge - good use of color, composition is just right, soft shadow and light work well.

Nice soft focus, wish the feet were a bit further apart. The sunbeam is very bright, but has a nice effect, so i'm torn, but I think it would look better without.

WOW!! You had to know this photo would be breathtaking as soon as you thought up the idea. I think it effects me more since I'm from Kansas. 10

heh. I like it. the sparkles are great. maybe a little less exposure on the socks and legs would have been nice; then you could dodge the slippers to make them stand out without losing the detail in the socks. one of my favourites.

positioning the feet at an angle to the stone grid would have implied more movement

Neat concept, I wish it were executed better. I'm sure you are aware that the bottom right corner is blown out, as are the socks, which is just too bad because this shot could be great.

Excellent image. Really has the mood of the Wizard of Oz going for it with the outstanding lighting. One of the best of the challenge. 10
