Took a cruise up the east coast to Canada, and returned to New York at 7:00 AMperfect for a early morning sunlit skyline.
Except it wasn't :( Sunrise at 5:30, and a humid, hazy day, the city was to distant for any clear shot. By the time I was in close enough for the haze not to be an issue, The sun had rissen high enough to be obscured by clouds, right as I was passing the Statue of Liberty! :(
My Return flight brought me to my in-laws in Phoenix, where I noticed the carved wooden bench they had which would serve as a skyline. Not having the strength to hoist the bench up onto a wall to give it a cloudy background, I instead draged it to the side of their pool. The striations are the curtains they use to cover their patio from the harsh desert sun, the texture is the pool bottom. I shot the reflection, cropped, inverted, enhanced, and this was my result.

| You asked for feedback and negative comments to help reconcile your score with the positive comments. I gave you a 6...so I liked it for it's funkiness and attempt to be different...however, it's not what the voters expected. Where is the real skyline? The horizon is crooked, and the composition is static and does not stimulate the imagination. A 5.27 is a good score for this image. Congrats on the bling, and your courage. |
