Lotsa steps here, but nothing difficult. I generally don't start out with a vision of what I want to create; frankly, I'm simply not that creative. I just pick a crappy image and throw stuff at it until something sticks and it starts to interest me. I never know where the image will end up, I surprise myself. Whether I love, hate, or am ambivalent about the final product, I enjoy the journey.
- base image:
- Below image in multiply blending mode 100% opacity
- Below image in darker color blending mode, 21% opacity
- Below image in soft light mode, 100% opacity
- Playingwithbrushes texture in multiply mode 33% opacity with gradient mask applied, found on flickr here
- ArtOfDecay texture in soft light mode 33% opacity, found on Deviant Art here
- Below texture in screen mode 43% opacity
- old typewriter font Adler found here, adjust opacity to taste
- applied various scratchings and waterstains using Obsidian Dawn brushes, adjust opacity to taste
- create new layer from all previous layers with ctrl + alt + shift + e keyboard shortcut
- apply Nik Color Efex Pro tonal contrast filter, then reduce opacity to 18%
- add white border on new layer using stroke feature (found under Edit on the menu)
- add drop shadow to border
- duplicate border layer and rotate 180 degrees and reverse direction of light so that shadow is all the way around the border
That's it. Please note that as I add layers of images or textures I resize them and move them around at will.

Wonderful! Kind of like a camel backed kitty! And she's so softly waiting! Just gorgeous! I'm happy to be playing with you again! |

I think a lot of us work that way, creativity is just as much in the doing, ask any jammin' jazz musician. Wonderful work.

Light, beautiful, glorious colors and the perfect font for the lettering .. I read your (not difficult) steps and choked on my coffee lol .. You ever think of doing a video of your steps? Now that I would pay for because I learn while watching .. well .. sometimes .. once in a blue moon ...sigh |

This just screamed for text and you did it so well. Now you need to write the book. FAB!! I'm so amazed that you can catalog all of your steps. Good girl. |

Wonderful creation. I love the light airiness. Who says creativity has to be planned? |
