A large, dead tree at the beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Quaint little place, Carmel. Lovely beach to walk in the mornings. Gray, overcast, cool. But lovely.
My thanks to Robert and Penny for being excellent hosts!
Shot with the 10-22, at 10, at the base of the tree looking toward the ocean. Three shot HDR, handheld (and there is some fuzziness in the bushes because of that), then processed with Nik HDR, and a layer of Silver Efex Pro in luminosity mode. Worked a bit from a preset I borrowed from Bear via Sarah, but in the end tried my own hand at it, adding some control points, a vignette, and a couple of burned edges. |
