I'm huge into history. I may be a little weird, but seeing static aircraft on display, such as this B-29, kind of depresses me. It's like they're screaming to get off the ground again and fly through the clouds. I tried to represent that feeling through this photograph. I decided on HDR because I wanted the detail within the chrome while being able to really draw out the whites in the clouds.

I kept the darks dark because I wanted the aircraft to remain in a somber mood, allowing the sky to prevail as the most beautiful aspect of the photograph... exactly where the somber bomber yearns to be. I hope you enjoy the photograph as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Yes, the days of this plane are over and I'm sure many of the people who fought during that time hated it at the time but for the most part we have moved on and are mostly friendly with each other. But...they brought it to us, our civilian population AND, they were warned...what did they expect? In my opinion, that comment 'below' had no place here, especially in 'public'. It said nothing of your photographic work. It is a very artistic look and feel to it. The crop is right on and it has a historic place in our DPC files. 'Somber' - very well put and I'm wondering if it was read prior to the comment....GEEZ!

There's a debate I'm not going to get into. But thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

hardly glory when this thing dropped nuclear bombs on civilian populations. wish they all were "static". sorry but its time to stop glorifying war.

The sky is totally overworked in post. I think you could have done a red channel black and white conversion, added some contrast, and called it done.

Interesting use of effect and very nice symmetry. I would have personally preferred to see a little more of the plane, but its nevertheless an interesting shot 7

The heavy processing here goes very well with the subject. Clinging to the old majesty.
