In the shot preceding this one, the man had just put his hand down to the dog, who was laying there bored absolutely silly by her mistress being on the cell for the last 20 minutes! The man was trying to make eye contact with her but she was too absorbed in her conversation.

So here is the following shot: Doggy worshiping man for paying attention to him, and mistress looking at man once he had broken eye contact. Altogether an interesting scene.

PP: shot jpeg and in b/w, so just resize, sharpen, save for web

The dog seems to be enjoying it, nice and well composed shot of everyday.

It's interesting how this guy's body language shows how nervous he is of the dog. His center of gravity is positioned such that he can make a hasty exit.

Just love this idea and shot! It tells me that the man is interested in the dog while the woman pays no attention to it. But, also makes me wonder if the man is waiting for her to get off of the phone to make his "move" LOL. Really nice capture!

This makes me smile. Very nice catch - espeically the uptilt of the dog's head, the distance of the man reaching to pet him, as though he's a bit unsure of the animal's friendliness or of invading the space of the woman on the other end of the leash. Speaking of the woman - she's not involved in the moment at all. It belongs to the dog and the man. Yet having her in the frame is essential to show the disconnect. Nicely seen, great work with getting it right with the camera - no edit needed here.

One of my favorites of the challenge. Love this interaction. I bet that guy really thinks by petting her dog that he might get a date. ;) No chance! Though she does have that look on her face that says, "If that bag is full of money then maybe you just might have a shot."

Nice work!

I think he is waiting for her to finish her phone conversation so he can talk to her:) I like the composition of the photogrpah
