Greetings from the Comment Bomb Squad!
I am just going through your portfolio stopping at some images that move me. I love shots of doors and your shot provides a wonderful mood with an excellent composition!
The lines leading to the door create a great focal point including the steps, the top of the kneewall next to the steps leading down, and the break in the wall exposing the block underneath leading up to the door. The color and tones combined with the textures of the masonry work and the diffuse, low contrast light work together to create a moody portrait of a lovely scene. The pop of color really helps to set the door off as the focal point.
Because this was entered in a color challenge, I am sure the DPC voters were expecting shiny, happy colors. However, this moody door shot scores high in my book! |

At the bottom of a staircase. 3 steps are visible at the bottom right, the rest are hidden between the two walls on the left side.

I really like this photo, especially the layer on layer of history. The contrast and composition are great to me. |

This is beautiful. The composition is as pleasing as a Mozart symphony. |

No vote. I think it DNMC but is a wonderful picture. I CANNOT vote it down simply because I think it does not meet. Well worthy of an 8 though |

Yes, such lovely textures and tones. Probably wont meet the majority of DPCers votes since it doesnt have the flashy colors, but I'm a big fan!! |

This is a breath of fresh air; great comp. and texture. Something about the deep purple grays that just seem to go with the khaki-esque tan. nice work, nice title, good luck. |

I really enjoy the textures. However, I feel like there's absolutely no depth to this image, as if it was a painting. |
