Do you see 4 baby bluebirds? Take a closer look. There are actually 5 of them! I did not realize it until I looked at them again later.

Thanks to everyone for your votes. I have a bluebird house in the backyard. Each year I watch the building of the nest, the laying of the eggs and the babies hatching and growing until they are old enough to leave the nest. I unscrewed the top of the birdhouse so that I can lift it off and view the birds from the top. It never ceases to amaze me. The father bird will sometimes swoop down to draw my attention away from the babies (double click on image to see it larger) . They will often build 3 or 4 nests during the year and raise 3 to 5 babies each time. Its a little tricky trying to capture all of them with their mouths open at one time. I do not spend much time viewing as to not disturb them. It was a matter of coming back multiple times over a few weeks and catching them awake and hungry at just the right time.
Here are all 5!

LOL they are so cute but so ugly at the same time! I have never looked that closely into a baby bird's mouth before. :) I wish I'd been around to vote on this!

Indeed, baby birds ARE pretty ghastly[strike]. But what an amazing shot. They sort of look a bit like Uncle Fester, with a bad toupee.

Amazing shot! Not the most attractive birds at this age but the brilliant yellow mouths are striking.
