This was the COOLEST Great Blue Heron I have ever "met." He let me come fairly close and move around and didn't even bat an eye while I shot him repeatedly from different angles LOL. Loved how in this shot I got both his reflection and his shadow at the same time.
Late afternoon light gave me the gradient and golden reflection.
PP - cropped a little, tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), erased all but the bird and his reflection and merged in luminousity mode at 20% transparency, levels, increased contrast, shifted color balance a little bluer on midtones, cloned out sensor dust spots and a couple of bubbles in the water, resized, sharpened, added border. |

| I liked this shot. Gave it an 8. I try to imagine it with a heavier crop across the the up and right directions. |

| I really enjoy how the direction of movement plays against the reflection and shadow. That all combines to give a classical triangle in the composition. |

| This is fantastic! Love how the water is so calm with only a few ripples. What i dislike is the colour of his reflection which seems out of sync with the rest of the photo. Really nice overall |
