And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!
And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?
Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!
I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green & pleasant Land
-William Blake
This is St. Peter's in Sandwich, Kent, UK. It was a church for hundred's of years until it was closed some time ago and reopened as a small museum. The soft light from the cloudy day was pouring into the sanctuary, making for a wonderfully lit scene. Whenevr i visit old English Churches, I always seem to think of Blake's words and the popular English hymn that made them famous...

I am participating in the "Why a '5' not a '6'?" commenting activity (see recent forum thread). Viewers are asked to leave a comment with some of their votes of '5' letting the photographer know why, for them, it fell short of a vote of '6'. If you have found this comment useful, you may wish to offer some of your own to those images where you vote 5.
Love the scene you chose, but I was a little unsure about the composition. The right side has some dead weight (the wall). Also, the eye (my eye anyway)jumps to the window and from there, the ceiling, which I suspect is most awesome, but alas, very little of it is visible. I also feel like some foreground elements of some interest might have also been cropped, but I'm not sure. A portrait view of the same scene might have put you into my land of six.
So now you know. And if you didn't get a six from me, it might interest you to know that this is my nine thousandth comment here.
