This was on the high end of my voting distribution ;-). It stopped me in my tracks while I was voting. Great texture and mood |

The image just presents more possibilities and stories each time I look at it. |

I looked at this so many times and tried to find the right words but to no avail. Actually I'm surprised to realize I never commented.... I love it - the dark abstraction, the beautiful lines nature creates while it's resting... waiting to be absorbed. |

Nature has a way to produce such wonderful abstraction. And you captured and controlled that chaos perfectly. The lighter element at top with the darkest line running through it meandering downward. Everything feels like it is dripping from the top, like ink or paint, gravity having it's way.
Very creative work. |

Congrats, piped at the post by a worth contender. Rather lovely hollows, shadows and lines, I can feel the downward flow towards me. Dokia, the dog, is compulsively doting. He only has a little time left (months) so I gave his owner a photo session for the memories. |

I can't resist the texture, like the illustration of a 19th century fairy tale, with all the characters gone for vacation.

A beautiful shot that didn't need a border. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Looks like someone got their Silver Efex Pro 2! I find this image to be thoroughly disorientating, that's a good thing - I like images that confound. The textures are obviously very well developed and I suspect this has turned out just as you wanted.
Critical stuff: Although I admire the image, I don't like it - I tend to dislike crunchy looking foliage and is uber-ccrunchy!
Overall: Nicely made but not for me. |

Great tones. Mysterious texture and compelling image made by this handling and treatment. An extension from reality to the otherworld, a glimpse of what nature does when no one's looking, of how twisted life can be under that special spotlight. Great stuff. |

Ah, one of the "addictive" pictures Robert! Would be interested why you chose this one over the Roots or Iconography. My favorite is Iconography. Great images. |
