 wow, first blue. wasn't sure where it would end up, the score stayed in the 6.6 range the whole time but i got so many great comments.

thanks to my buddy for helping me with this, and for letting me dunk his boots.

i would liked to have gotten the boot out of the water but we underestimated the weight of the boot on the fishing rod!

Things happen for a reason. I don't think this shot would have had the same impact with the boot clearing the water. That reflection is killer! Congrats on your first blue.

Once when I went fishing I had hooked something, I had such a hard time pulling it up I thought it was a giant fish but no it was only a rotten soggy boot. Thanks for the memory!

I voted a "7" on this. Superb composition. Great clarity and detail on the wet boot. The narrow dof with pleasant bg bokeh really throws the eye to the subject. I love the luminous glow on the water and the rippled reflections. The fishing line is just right. (My filament line would be invisible.) Outstanding tonal range. Excellent b&w conversion. I also love the shot angle, which is low..... like you were in the water, below the gunnel of the boat.
