Unbelievably strong winds here gave me an opportunity to capture something different. Stock standard comp, but the blowing sand adds something different in my opinion. Hope the voters think so too :)

Manual blend of 2 exposures.

I agreed with lawrysimm when I saw this Philip, did not pick it as you. Great balance of driftwood and sun. 8

I did not get to vote on this one but oh boy, it is terrific and worth much more than a six an a half. Truly great

WTF is wrong with the voters on DPC? You got robbed!! This is a brilliant photo! This should have been in the top 3 if not winner.

Wow. Just wow. Absolutely phenomenal control of light, shadow, reflection, and motion.

If I had one suggestion, I feel I wish it had a wider aspect ratio on the crop. It feels a little confined.

There are always a hatful of beach/sun shots in the free studies - almost to the point of cliché. That said, this is by far and away the best I have seen for some time. Great leading lines, beautifully exposed, and the motion generated by the wind is sublime. I would like to see this on the front page.

I really enjoy how the driftwood points the eye towards the sun. That helps bring this scene together.

Nice job...the wind across the sand and waves creates good visual interest.
