The image lacks contrast and saturation. A few minutes with photoshop would bring this image to life.

The colors seem a bit washed out, and the subject isn't in focus...

While this subject meets the challenge criteria, it seems to lack compositional interest and the focus is slightly off. A less busy background and better lighting may help and maybe having the subject slightly off center and at a more interesting angle could help with the composition of the shot. Hope this helps a little.

Good texture and simple easy-on-the-eyes color. This photo will benefit from a few enhancements: 1. increase the contrast. 2. Follow the rule of thirds in your composition. 3. Side lighting will show the texture more. 4. Better focus.

Technically ok, but I think compositionally, this is a case where the rule of thirds should have been used.

Definately an everyday object but not a very appealing picture to me. The table cloth seems to have better focus than the keys. 5

Keys turned into a pretty common theme for the challenge. I like the inclusion of the state key ring. Composition is boring - too centered.

darker background would have been better, perhaps?

The background is a little distracting. It would help you to adjust the colour levels so that black is really black - you'll find it makes all the difference.

This is a terrible shot. I don't think you have really woked on it. C'mon, you can do better. Move the keys around and look from different angles. I am sure you can find a better angle, background and arrangement than this. It's not even in focus. Did you really try for this?

focus needs a little bit of work, everything here is blurry.. try to avoid putting things in the dead center of the photo - use the rule of thirds, or at least take it from a more interesting angle. the background needs to go, too.. stick with solid colors, so they don't detract from your focal point

Poor focus, not very intresting or original, and looks last min.

This is everyday stuff but a bit to dull, the lighting could be better, are the keys sharp?

OK but the requirement was for an interesting composition as well as an everyday object. Not sure you hit the nail here.

Although I didn't submit, this was my idea (of an everday object)! Photo is a little blurry though and I was thinking of a macro shot of the keys.
