I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Your narrow depth of field captures the layered nature of what lies before us and choice of offering this as a flat grey communicates a certain austerity. You have restricted the frame to such a degree that with aren't offered any reference points and this confounds our ability to attribute scale to what we are seeing - I like that ambiguity.
Critical stuff: None of the above is really enough to develop any great degree of interest in the image - I can respect what you have done but the elements don't conspire to offer up enough to make me care about the image. It doesn't make me get involved as a viewer.
Overall: I see what you have gone for but in the final analysis it isn't pushing my buttons. Apologies.
