Applied one curves adjustment layer in Photoshop with a slight crop. Came across shot luckily yesterday morning while I was waking up with my first cup of coffee. The light was peeking through the window curtain. All just by chance.

Would have liked to see a little more sharpness on the cup.

I like the steaming cup of morning brew; dislike the busy background.

Lines of objects and light/shadow along with the fumes definitely drive my conviction that you nailed this photo challenge. Can you tell I'm a coffee drinker?

feels like morning. It seems a little washed in the darker areas, but I don't really mind it. the softness also fits the image well. background isn't *too* distracting. Nice capture. -7

I like the coposition, except that it's a bit too dark in the background. The black mug coupled with a dark background (to me) has the effect of not allowing the subject (the mug) to stand out. I love how the steam is captured though - very cool.

definately love the composition, the yellow things in the back distract me a little, but over all very nice, moody pic :)

good capture, but the mug could have been sharper for my taste. did you use a tripod?

I like the concept, but the background is distracting as well as the reflection of the photographer in the cup.

i love it. normally it would be too busy, but, given the context, it is a bonus. well done. i would have chosed to burn out the shadows
