First few shots with the new macro lens (less than a week old). It's a lot more difficult than I imagined. Especially with my bad eyesight. And I don't yet own the proper lighting. And I thought I'd be able to get closer. And...

It's still fun.

First week was "my style", or something like it. Second week macro. Next week is pinhole.

These flowers, by the way, are for my wife's birthday, which was Wednesday. Shot this an hour ago.

Has a real Georgia O'Keefe feel to it.

love the colouring on this one, they all seem to blend together and the shadows, to me, separate them perfectly

Beautiful and meaningful. I love the deep tones. The title is apt. Flowers, biologically speaking, are all about sex and, yes, seduction. Interesting that they are such a traditional gift from men to women, considering that. :)

Beautiful colors, lines and textures. I bet your wife would appreciate a print of this lovely image as much as she appreciated the original gift of the flowers. Awesome work!!

This is beautiful! For bad eyesight, the focus is great. Did you use auto focus, or manual. Sometimes this close, auto focus can be tough. Nice work with your new lens.

Great tension between the dark and light areas, and I can almost feel the texture.

I really like the composition, saturation, and detail in this image. It is something I could hang on my wall and never tire of looking at it. Very nicely done!

I love the colours, the abstract composition and the grain and I think the lighting is absolutely appropriate. The whole image is truly beautiful.

Beautiful red color! The graininess makes it look like a painting. I find live view, combined with a large screen, always a great help for macro photos.

better lighting will help, one thing about macro is if you dont have the proper light -- you can use a flashlight to enhance -- as long as its not LED... was this hand held or on a tripod? I like the concept :) the colors are nice and the detail is cool. All in all pretty darn good for getting used to a new lens!!!
