 My wife.

A full 2 second exposure to get the diffused daylight to show though the black sheet I used to mask the window. Let off a studio light camera right to expose Nic.

As people predicted, it was very difficult to remain disciplined and force an unbalanced composition. This does look unbalanced to me; let's see if others agree.

Some of the lovely comments are making me chuckle. I can certainly see that Nic looks a little disturbed! This was entirely as a result of her becoming fed up with my demands - done in near darkness, a two second exposure to sit through, my slow manual focussing and the increasingly urgent need to leave the house to pick our son up from school!

I did get the lighting as I wanted it though!

wonderful shot Paul, unbalanced and moody, but perfectly exposed. I love how the light on her face and neck completes the curve of the window

you have a very pretty model, i was trying to figure out what you were going for here, maybe mentally out of balance? not sure. i googled the title to see if i could gain some insight but there were many different things. Well its a nice, if not slightly disturbing shot.

So many wonderful things about this image. I love the gauzy bg, and the ghostly appearance of the decanter, the arch of the window, and the lighting on her face. I even like her polka dots. I'm just not crazy about her expression.
