Yes, I saw it myself, the processing is not the best here, to say the least. It really was a beautiful scene to capture and I did it in HDR,as it seemed appropriate here. Since I am new to HDR I couldn't process this image better, I saw the distracting halos around the mast and the bridge, but at that point the deadline was close and I just didn't have enough of time nor knowledge to fix it. That was my second HDR attempt ever (the first one I tried for the bridge challenge but the result was even worse there so I decided not even to compete). It's a pity, of course. I hope I can use the same or similar subject in the future, that time with better pp. Thank you for your comments, they were very valuable!

Good composition, but a little heavy on the photo processing - some very obvious haloing detracts from the photo.

Topaz is way over the top for my tastes. I liked the composition though.

You've GOT to learn how to take care of the halos if you want to do this kind of processing; they are KILLING you here. You may PM me if you want help with it...

ouch, the processing kills this, blue was pushed way too hard

this just looks down right cold...love the HDR effect (or Topaz)

It's a wonderful shot, and the processing in parts is wonderful, but the haloing around the mast and the bridge really detracts. If it's topazed, you probably could have gotten away with masking out the sky, mast and bridge and not topazing that area, just using other adjustments there.

Nice shot, just needs a little work to avoid all the ghosting

The processing on this is overdone.

I love this look. What, is it desaturated or how do you give it that almost comic look? Great angle and shot.

the image is great, the processing is not, the haloes are spoiling this
01/01/2011 11:04:18 PM
is the halo around the mast from dodging?

A wonderful scene to capture, with great subjects. However, I'm really not liking the halo effects left all over this image from post processing.

this is a very pretty scene

Beautiful scene but the processing is way over the top and in my opinion ruins the image, the processing has created halos and has such an unnatural look but does not even work artistically. I would love to see this one redone because I think it has a lot of potential.
