The blue tone works well here conveying the cold. I would crop an inch off the left and bottom of the image to strengthen the composition. I would also darken the area on the right as there is nothing of interest there and it is drawing my attention. My attention should be on the tree and person. Nice work and well done!

I like the silhouette and the slight blue tint gives an impression of cold winter. There seems to be a slight tilt to the scene that bothers me a little.

love the tree, I'm glad you included the pedistrian it makes this shot more than just another tree.

love the tones of this image and the way the tree seems to be about to embrace the man walking by .. the lights on the tree and the lights in the building seem to speak of community and togetherness in some way .. the chill outside given more impact with that excellent blue tone .. the lights in the buildings speaking of a cozy retreat .. i'm not that taken with the composition tho which is a shame .. coz its a great image .. :)

This is a lovely image but as others have said it may be a little suboptimal compositionally. if I crop the left and bottom of the image with my hands placing the figure at the lower left (third) sweet spot, I think the image looks stronger.

Having said all that, this is a really good looking image. As is I'd give a five in a Free Study, I'd be a six or may be a seen with a slightly different composition.

This is a great shot! The lighting works very well with enough reflection on the foreground that draws me into the tree and the person. The building and cars in the background had the potential to be a distraction but not in this shot. They̢۪re subtle enough to actually add interest and expand on the possible story of this lone person. However, it̢۪s this person that really makes the image for me.

I can feel what Yo_Spiff is saying about the tilt of the image. It’s ever so slight but enough to make the image that little uncomfortable. Overall, I quite like this – well done.

Nice use of the slight motion blur on the passerby and I like the glare of the tree off the wet pavement. The blue tone conveys to me how cold it is outside. Being nitpicky for a moment, there seems to be a very slight tilt to the scene that would be an easy fix.

I really like the shot. Great mix of light and dark. I love the reflection of the tree on the sidewalk. The person is a wonderful addition, and a great touch. I would have preferred the person either to the left or the right a bit more and not so centered, though it is very difficult to time things perfectly. It's not a big deal, just a very small suggestion.

One other very small suggestion: did you sharpen after resize? I pulled the image into photoshop and did a smart sharpen with settings of 109 & .5, and it brings out the details of the tree beautifully. It looks a little muddy in the shot as it stands. I don't particularly like it on the rest of the shot, so I'd mask that out for the sharpening round.

Just a couple of thoughts. I think it's a great photo, and a great find. Very nicely done!

Good idea to wait for a pedestrian. Gives some feeling to the shot.
