 Placed a mint leaf from the garden and a chocolate chip from the cupboard on a mirror, took picture using light from the window in dining room.
Cropped, resized, auto adjustments.

Love the lighting and colour. I would suggest that adding a bit of space above the leaf and then moving the chocolate toward the left of the leaf and moving the leaf down a bit might enhance the delicacy of the subject matter. I don't mean to rearrange your work, just my opinion :)

Nice illusion of the mint floating. Mirrors can be tricky to work with and this was executed well. Nice lighting.

what's the leaf on? a mirror? how did you mange with the refections?

You meet the challenge. I like the idea too. However, the lighting is a bit off. I think the background would be nice if it were blue or tan. I think the kiss should be lit with a more yellowish light. The crop is interesting. I think I'd like to see it with more room on top and less on the bottom. Also the kiss seems a tiny bit blurry. I hope this was helpful to you...

i like this idea..... crop is too low, i think the chip should be more centered, but that's just me.
