Like ursula (and unlike roz!!!), I'm still in the dark about when/how/on what to use overlays. This image is from a couple of months ago at an artsy fartsy event at MOCA. I really like the image by itself, but decided to use it as an overlay study. It was originally pretty strong red, and I desaturated most of the other colors out, and toned down the red. I applied one grunge overlay in hard light mode over the entire image, and a second "cloudy" overlay across the top curtain area in screen mode. Then I adjusted the colors on that.

I have no idea what any of that meant.

I think you did it well. What I love most is that magenta! You will learn with each one you do and it's wonderful to watch you grow in this creative endeavor.

Hmmmm. Sometimes a person does these things just for the fun of it, and this kinda looks like that. In a way, it works a lot better than some of the more intentional texture images, because it doens't have a cute story, which (to my mind) sometimes sort of destroys the pictures. This one looks quite bloody, even, bloody good.

How bizarre that it looks as if an arm is coming out of that jacket the wrong way to reach for the hood. This is one that it will take some looking at.
