Thanks for the comments and a special thanks to pixelpig for the Gilded Lily award, my first ever. Its also the first time i had someone fav one of my photos which is exciting as well.

To be honest, I took this photo when i first got my new macro lens. I didnt really have anything in mind while taking it, i just wanted to see how close i could get and this turned up. I took about 10 photos and this one to me looked the best. Looking forward to taking a lot more similar to this photo and learning as much as i can.

Oh and by the way, another first, no scores of 1 :)

Looking to crack a avg of 6 or higher soon.

Takes a minute to appreciate(can be a good thing, surprise). Off the bat, out of focus then it forces you to look for focus and you find the leaf below. You notice the stem and draw up to the lower blue tip green in the dandy. Then a look at the dandies brown center. Pretty cool! Surrounded by the white shell it takes on an otherworldly appeal. Nice softness to the interior white then a sharpness on the exterior white like an atmosphere or a protective shell. That said, too much of nothing above the dandy. Dull grass blade blur I would have traded for more dandy, two thirds not half. Maybe if the blade was not so blurred and a little greener or more blades...but what do I know. Makes me want to buy a macro!

This was easy to dismiss because of the lack of sharp clear focus, at least on my monitor. But the light is clear & soft, & as I was gazing at it I fell in love with it. The little bit of green leaf makes a path for my eye to the collar of green under the dandelion, the slight reflection of green, the almost in focus seeds, the strange mauve BG. The luminous white.

I haven't awarded a Gilded Lily in a while. Please accept this offer of my admiration for your work here.

So wonderfully soft and serene.
